College Counseling
The Oliverian School is a college preparatory school and it is our goal and expectation to advise, counsel and inspire our students to attend institutions of higher learning. Peter Stevens, M.A., our Dean of Academics, serves as lead advisor to our students in this effort. He is assisted by our entire faculty, including Barclay Mackinnon, Head of School, our counseling team, and individual student advisors. We supplement this work by offering an on-site SAT prep class and opportunities for advanced credit.
As a former teacher, dean, school based counselor and Headmaster, Mr. Stevens brings his 35 years of experience in traditional and therapeutic schools to the college consulting and planning process. He is a member of the Independent Educational Counselors Association and the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. While we cannot guarantee admission to any particular college, we seek to ensure that each student enjoys a practical, clear, comprehensive and workable plan, complete with timetables, recommended resources, realistic goals, check-points, evaluation of progress and encouragement.
The Oliverian School is proud of our college counseling program. In just four years of operation, virtually all of our graduates have been accepted into institutions for higher learning, including, without limitation:
