Athletics and Leisure
Unlike many school athletic programs, adventure activities at Oliverian
are taught as life-long pursuits. Our belief is that a passion for these
activities can be developed through a coaching relationship between our
skilled and qualified staff and our students. Our goal is to provide a solid
foundation of skill and technique as students strive to reach their highest
level of individual performance. We also support and encourage students
should they decide to compete.
Overnight Trips:
Offering overnight adventure trips is an important part of what our adventure team offers on a regular basis. In years past, overnight trips have been rare and something that we have always looked at expanding. With the increased adventure faculty and student interest, this year we have been able to expand and increase the number of outdoor overnight trips.
Because of our location, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, we are able to run amazing trips that would otherwise be very difficult to support. So far the planned trips this year include a Hut to hut fall foliage trip, winter camping, mountatineering, climbing, canoeing, and white water rafting.
Oliverian Ski/Snowboard Program:
The Mountains of New Hampshire can be an incredible place for skiing and snowboarding. The Oliverian School collaborates with Loon Mountain, one of the top resorts in New Hampshire, to deliver a comprehensive program for each of our students. Each week our students attend ski and snowboard instruction on the mountain. Each student at Oliverian receives a season pass, which allows for additional ski and snowboard trips on weekends.
Some students may choose to be part of the ski/snowboard team, where they will have the opportunity to compete in various disciplines such as: alpine racing, or freestyle.
