2009 Intersession Trips     2008 Intersession Trips
For many students February Intersession trips are one of the highlights of their
experience at Oliverian. Intersession gives students the opportunity to experience
complete immersion in one particular area of study for eight to nine days.
Students and faculty travel together nationally and internationally to engage in
service work, coupled with adventure and art activities. These academically
integrated adventures have included: contributing to village construction in
Mexico, helping a children’s orphanage in Ghana, participating in an ecological study
in Costa Rica and Belize, collaborating with artists in New Mexico, and working
with villagers in Samoa.
Students are matched with trips according to their interest, parental preference,
and appropriateness of the trip to the student’s course of study. No matter what
type of trip students choose, they combine fun and learning with travel in a small
group that enables them to forge new connections with each other and the world
around them. Excitement and adventure interwoven with a range of new learning
opportunities make this an unforgettable part of the life of our school.
