Center for School Success Supports Oliverian Teachers and Curriculum

The Oliverian School and the Center for School Success have agreed to work together in providing direct support for our teachers, our curriculum, and our program. CSS will support the over-arching principles of the school. In so doing they will:
  1. Assist the faculty in building & articulating curriculum that supports the goals of the school.
  2. Provide our teachers with current information on each of our students with recommended accommodations and strategies.
  3. Provide our teachers with expert mentoring in educating students with special needs.
  4. Cultivate among our teachers a climate and culture of mutual professional growth
  5. Provide the academic/college office with advice on accommodations for our students and their standardized testing.
Our relationship with the Center is ongoing and highly supportive of our teachers. Subsequently, this relationship “trickles down” to all our students helping to provide a remarkable amount of support at Oliverian.

Oliverian Partners with Center for School Success

Barclay Mackinnon, Head of School, is pleased to announce that Oliverian will continue and expand its relationship with the Center for School Success (CSS). CSS has provided professional development and learning assessment services to Oliverian for the past two years. Building upon the groundbreaking research of Mel Levine, M.D., CSS will continue its ongoing work to help our faculty and students understand and manage specific breakdowns in learning. CSS services help shift focus from what individual students can’t do, to what they can do. Utilizing this strength-based approach, CSS provides strategies to promote self-advocacy and school success. Elizabeth Reed, M.Ed., CSS Senior Learning Specialist, is scheduled to be on campus weekly throughout the school year, offering on-site support for students and staff. Peter Stevens, Dean of Academics and college counselor, is pleased to note that CSS offers a unique level of professional development and student support customized specifically to the needs of Oliverian.
