Success through Service Learning at the Oliverian School
Through service learning, students learn to connect service initiatives
to their own intellectual and personal growth. In an effort to encourage
a life-long commitment to service, we teach students to make meaningful
connections not only to the value of service to others, but also to themselves.
We start with faculty-driven, academically oriented learn-by-doing
projects. As students develop, they are challenged to design local and
regional service learning projects with meaningful academic and personal
connections.
Each winter, Oliverian hosts a variety of Intersession Trips
which demonstrate our committment to service learning by combining the Oliverian philosophies of integrated adventure and success through service.
