With a week full of challenging academics, stewardship, and study hall, we do not underestimate the importance of rest, relaxation, and recreation in achieving a well-balanced life. Ample free time is allotted during the week for students to catch up with friends, chat on the phone, or relax in their rooms. Depending on student interest, we also offer afternoon clubs and intramural sports such as soccer, yoga, poetry slam, basketball, robotics, and music jam.
Each dorm has a common room for students to relax, watch TV, or visit. The Mackinnon Center is another popular spot for students to relax and take advantage of the wireless Internet, a lounge area with a large-screen TV, or the fitness center and game room.
Weekend activities are plentiful and include such outings as dinner and a movie in Hanover, a shopping trip to Burlington, a Dartmouth soccer or hockey game, a ski trip to Cannon Mountain, a visit to an art exhibit in Concord, or a hike on the Appalachian Trail.
