Marie Greene, Marketing Coordinator, graduated from National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland, with a BA in Visual Culture. Marie is an Oliverian alum, Class of 2014, and rejoined her Oliverian family in 2020 as a marketing intern. She is now working in her new role remotely from Edinburgh, Scotland, where she is pursuing her MSc in Digital Media Design at the University of Edinburgh.
As a former Oliverian student, Marie has a unique and deep-rooted connection to Oliverian. She is overjoyed to be able to have the chance to give back, echoing the gifts she believes Oliverian gave her during her high school years. Marie has been interested in art and design since she attended Oliverian, where her love of photography peaked. Her experiences and education since then have helped firmly root her on a path in design and digital marketing.
Marie is settling into Edinburgh life and enjoying getting to know her new surroundings. As an avid traveler and with her main roots in Ireland, Marie knows Scotland may only be a temporary stop! In her free time, Marie loves getting lost in movies, creating and geeking out on art and media, walking around the city, working in coffee shops, and feeding her very recent obsession with house plants!
What do you love most about Oliverian?
There will never be just one thing – I am beyond grateful that a place like Oliverian existed when I needed them, and that other kids can not only benefit, but thrive here too. Oliverian is my family, and this connection will always mean more than I can express.
What motivates you to work with kids?
My teenage years had the greatest impact on my life so far, and I am drawn to high schoolers by the nature of who I was at that time and who these kids are now. I am driven to pay it forward by using my own experiences and what I have learned since then into the lives of others.
