Our Summer Extended Support program, led by Student Support Coach Myles Trifon, is off to a fantastic start! For many families, planning began months before summer break—setting goals, establishing expectations, and creating family agreements together.
Myles works one-on-one with students and meets weekly with parents and guardians. These sessions help families stay connected, support healthy routines, and avoid slipping into unproductive patterns.
“Part of it is about rebuilding relationships,” Myles shares. “I also help students search for job and volunteer opportunities or enroll in summer programs and camps. Home is very different from school. Without the structure of a regular schedule, students can struggle. I provide scaffolding—temporary support that helps build coping mechanisms and resilience. For neurodivergent kids, continuity of care is vital.”
During the school year, many Oli students thrive on social connection—and they can feel isolated once summer begins. To help bridge that gap, we offer Wednesday mini game nights on Zoom, featuring fun group games like Jackbox and Werewolf. Students laugh, connect, and enjoy quality time together in a relaxed setting. This weekly event is free for all enrolled & graduated Oliverian students.
I support the transition from Oliverian to home—or wherever the student may be spending the break—and then help again with the transition back at the start of the school year. It’s important for newly enrolled families to know this resource is available to them too,” Myles adds.
It’s never too late to join the Extended Support Program. Maybe summer is presenting more challenges than expected, or perhaps your child is a new student starting this fall. Whatever the case, we’re here for you.
The door is always open.
