Alumni Spotlight – David Adelman, Class of 2007
May 1, 2022

After leaving Oliverian I went to Stetson University in Florida on scholarship and pursued my bachelors in science Majoring in Health Science and Minoring in Psychology. After graduating I went to graduate school at Florida International University to get my Doctorate in Physical Therapy where I ended up graduating top 5 in my class. I have been a PT for 6 years now and recently left a position as Director of Physical Therapy for a busy practice where I worked with two orthopedic spine surgeons. Currently I am building my own home health Orthopedics business while also directing a sports medicine clinic that works with professional athletes and NHL players in Florida. I have also been accepted into the University of Louisiana Health Care MBA program and am considering admission this summer. I am also excited to announce that my fiance Robin and I are getting married in June of this year in Cancun, Mexico and looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.

The Oliverian School helped me as a young teenager with no real vision or identity find a new perspective on life. I grew up with a great family but sheltered in Boca Raton, FL. At Oliverian I experienced new things that I never have before (building a log cabin, white water rafting, rock climbing, skiing, hiking numerous hills and mountains, and more). I had always been an introvert teenager and reserved going into Oliverian. Through small class sizes and engagement in activities that require teamwork and camaraderie I began to open up and feel more comfortable talking to classmates and teachers  about my most private feelings. I feel I became a leader and role model  to many other kids at Oliverian, many who I still keep in touch with and visit to this day! The closest relationships I have in my life have come through Oliverian, and I attribute many of my accomplishments to my time there with people like Farmer John, Barclay, Greg Vogel, Carl Stagg, and many others. When i tell people I went to boarding school for high school, their first reaction is always “Uh-oh were you a bad kid?” I tell them, “No, I actually decided on my own to come back after attending summer school there after my sophomore year  and it was the greatest decision I ever made in my life.”
